On Machine:Tilt the blade fully to one side and fullyangle the blade both directions while observing which cylinder bottomsfirst. Repeat while fully tilted to the other side. If the extending cylinderbottoms first, remove both cylinders for rework. If the retracting cylinderbottoms first in both angle directions, there is no problem. If cylindersare reworked, perform this test again afterwards.Cylinder Repair:After disassembly of the cylinder, measurethe length of the rod from the inside diameter of the pin bore to the pistonend of the rod with the piston removed. If the rod measurement A on Illustration1 is 619 mm (24.37 inch), install two 8T4167 Washers between the pistonand the rod and use a new 8T0666 Bolt. If the rod measurement A on Illustration1 is 622 mm (24.49 inch), install one 8T4167 Washer between the pistonand the end of the rod. If the rod measurement A on Illustration 1 is 627mm (24.69 inch), no rework is needed. Grind a chamfer (B) on the outsidediameter of the side of the washer that is being installed into the pistoncup first so that it will sit flush with the inside surface (C) of thepiston. Tighten the piston retaining bolt to a torque of 900 N m(662 ft-lb) after thoroughly cleaning the threads in the rod and on thebolt with a non-lubricating cleaning compound. See Illustration 2.
