Incorrect 3/8-14 bolts were used to mount theHMU to the mounting bracket. These bolts need to be replaced with the correctmetric bolt M10X1.5, 8T4186. The 3/8-14 bolts were installed on certain69D, 769D, 771D, 773D, 773E, 775D, and 775E Off-Highway Trucks. These boltsneed to be replaced to ensure that the correct bolts are installed. REWORK PROCEDURE
The four bolts and washers that mount the MeteringPump to the cab need to be removed, the threads cleaned by applying oilto a M10X1.5 THD tap (ref 8T3087 Hand Tap) and chase the threads to removeany residual loctite on the threads. The tapped holes must be purged ofany contaminate by blowing air into the threaded hole, using caution thatthis material can be forced out of the hole by the air and into the eyes.Apply the proper amount of Loctite (ref 154-9731Thread Lock) to the bolts and install new bolts and washers into threadedholes. Torque the bolts to 55+/-10N.m.
