parameters that affect engine operation may be changed with an electronic service tool. These parameters are stored in the electronic control module. The engine has two types of programmable parameters:
System configuration parameters
Customer parametersSystem configuration parameters affect emissions or power ratings. Normally, these parameters do not require changes during the service life of the engine. These parameters are protected from unauthorized changes by factory passwords.Customer specified parameters are protected by customer passwords. Customer passwords are programmed by the customer. The customer specified parameters can be changed as often as needed. These parameters may be programmed by the customer:
Low idle rpm
Fuel to air ratioThe low idle rpm can be programmed within the range of 400 to 800 rpm. The default low idle rpm is 700 rpm.The customer may select a map for controlling the air/fuel ratio. This controls the amount of exhaust smoke during acceleration. Three levels are available:
Level 1 allows the most smoke with an air/fuel ratio of 14:1. This is the default value.
Level 2 has an air/fuel ratio of 16:1.
Level 3 allows the least smoke with an air/fuel ratio of 18:1.Use the space below to record the customer passwords and the programmed parameters.
