This Revised Service Letter replaces the March 27, 1993 Service Letter. Changes have been made to the chart in the Action Required.
Termination Date
June 30, 1993Problem
All 9Y1484, 7W7730 and 4P0601 Gaskets need to be removed from parts stock.
Action Required
Remove all 9Y1484, 7W7730 and 4P0601 Gaskets from parts stock and replace them with new 1007886 (replaces 9Y1484) and 1011188 (replaces 7W7730 and 4P0601) Gaskets. Also, review the following gaskets with date codes prior to 2/93. If the kits have a date code prior to 2/93, place a tag on them noting to exchange the existing gaskets with new 1007886 and 1011188 gaskets before the kits are used.
If the gasket kits are opened, they will not be accepted for return by Caterpillar.
Service Claim Allowances
Submit one claim for all 9Y1484, 7W7730 and 4P0601 Gaskets removed from parts stock.
U.S. and Canadian Dealers Only - Submit a parts stock claim using 99Z00007 in the Product Identification Number field.
Parts Disposition
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
