1. Drain the oil from filter group (1).2. Disconnect hoses (3) and (4) from filter group (1).3. Remove bolts (2), and remove filter group (1) from the machine. The following steps are for the installation of the torque converter filter group.4. Put filter group (1) in position on the machine, and install bolts (2) to hold it. Hose (4) is the shorter of the two hoses, and it is connected to the left side of the torque converter.5. Connect hoses (3) and (4) to filter group (1).6. Fill the torque converter with oil to the correct level. See the Maintenance Guide.Disassemble And Assemble Torque Converter Filter Group
1. Remove the filters from the torque converter filter group. See the Maintenance Guide for additional information.2. Remove the seal from cover (4) and the cotter pin from bolt (7).
Springs (3) and (5) are held under compression by pin (6).
3. Put the cover assembly in a press as shown in the inset of illustration B96147P1. Compress springs (3) and (5) with the press, and remove pin (6).4. Remove retainer (8), spring (5), valve (1), seat (2) and spring (3) from bolt (7).5. Remove bolt (7) from cover (4), and remove the O-ring seal from it. The following steps are for the assembly of the torque converter filter group.6. Install the O-ring seal on bolt (7), and put it in position in cover (4).7. Put spring (3), seat (2), valve (1), spring (5) and retainer (8) in position on bolt (7) as shown.8. Compress the springs in a press as shown in the inset of illustration B96147P1, and install pin (6) to hold them.9. Install the cotter pin in the hole at the threaded end of bolt (7).10. Install the torque converter filters in the torque converter filter group. See the Maintenance Guide for additional information.
