Remove & Install Aftercooler (Sea Water)
1. Drain the raw water from the aftercooler. 2. Remove six bolts (2) and washers.3. Disconnect tube (1) at both ends and remove tube (1).4. Remove two bolts (3) and washers.5. Remove two bolts (6) and washers.6. Remove two spacers (7).7. Loosen clamp (4) and remove filter (5). 8. Disconnect two connectors (8).9. Remove bolt (9) (not shown). 10. Loosen clamp (11).11. Remove tube (10). 12. Disconnect tube (12) at each end and remove tube (12).13. Loosen two clamps (16).14. Slide hose (15) up tube (14).15. Remove two bolts (13) and washers.16. Remove tube (14). 17. Use a pry bar or similar tool to remove flange (17). 18. Remove one bolt (20) and washer.19. Attach chains and a suitable lifting device to aftercooler housing (19) as shown.20. Remove twenty-two bolts (18) and washers.21. Remove aftercooler housing (19). The weight of aftercooler housing (19) is 41 kg (90 lb) 22. If necessary, remove spacer (21). Check the two gaskets on housing (19) for damage or wear and replace if necessary.23. Check O-ring seal (22) for damage or wear and replace if necessary. Upon installation, lubricate O-ring seal (22) lightly with glycerin. 24. Remove nine bolts (24) and washers. Three of the nine bolts have two washers per bolt. Washers (25) have a rubber seal. Upon installation make sure they are in their original location. 25. If necessary, remove three seals (25) from manifold (26). Check the seals for damage or wear and replace if necessary. For installation of the aftercooler (sea water) reverse the removal steps.
