When a remote start signal is applied to the remote initiate contact, the following sequence is initiated:
The start delay timer is initiated. The delay stops any false start signals. Note: If the remote start signal is removed during the start delay, then the unit will return to standby.
If the preheat timer is configured, then the preheat timer will be initiated. The corresponding programmable output that is selected will energize.
After the above delays, the fuel solenoid is energized. Then, the starting motor is engaged.
The engine is cranked for 10 seconds. The starting motor will be disengaged if the engine does not start. The starting motor will cool for 10 seconds. If the sequence continues beyond 3 attempts, the sequence will be terminated. The indicator for engine overcrank (1) flashes.
When the engine starts, the starting motor is disengaged. The starting motor is disconnected when the output from the alternator reaches 21 Hz. An engine speed sensor is mounted on the flywheel housing. An engine speed sensor is used in order to detect the engine speed. Use the P808 interface in order to choose the engine speed sensor for the detection of speed. Refer to "P808 For Windows" for more information. Use the "R" terminal of the alternator in order to disconnect the starting motor. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Control Module - Configure".Note: The "R" terminal of the alternator is not used for the detection of overspeed or underspeed.
The safety timer activates after the engine has started. This allows the following fault inputs to stabilize without triggering the fault:
Oil Pressure
Coolant Temperature
Underspeed
Charge Fail
Programmable Inputs
Once the engine is running, the warm up timer is initiated. This allows the engine to stabilize before accepting the load.
If a programmable output has been configured to deliver a load transfer signal, the load transfer signal will activate.Note: A load transfer will not be initiated until the oil pressure has risen and until the oil pressure switch has operated. This prevents excessive wear on the engine.
The stop delay timer is initiated when the remote start signal is removed. When the stop delay timer expires after 30 seconds, the load transfer signal is de-energized. This removes the load. Then, the cooling timer is initiated. The engine is given a cooling down period (off load) of 30 seconds. Once the cooling timer expires, the fuel solenoid is de-energized. This brings the generator to a stop.
If the remote start signal is reactivated and the warm up timer has expired, the generator set will return on load.
