Raising hopper allows clearance for working on track components. Secure hopper with a chain whenever working on track components.
Raise and chain hopper in the raised position.
To prevent personal injury, raise the complete machine up and use jack stands, of the appropriate size, to hold it in the raised position.
1. With the machine in the raised position, remove two bolts (1) and remove hopper support arm (2).
The track tension circuits contain trapped oil under pressure. The removal of any fittings before releasing the trapped oil pressure can result in personal injury. To prevent personal injury, perform Releasing Track Tension, (Trapped) Oil Pressure, located in Systems Operation Testing And Adjusting Propel Systems Manual prior to any tests, or removal of any fittings in the track tension circuits.
2. Release the track tension3. Remove twelve wheel nuts (3) and remove outer front wheel (4). During installation tighten these twelve nuts to a torque of 420 25 N m (315 19 lb ft). 4. Remove twelve wheel nuts (5) and remove outer rear wheel (6). During installation tighten these twelve nuts to a torque of 420 5 N m (315 4 lb ft).5. Remove bolts (7) and remove outer tension cylinder guard (8).6. Use a lift truck and remove track belt (9).7. At this time remove the inner rear wheel and inner front idler. 8. Remove bolts (10) and remove inner tension cylinder guard (11). 9. Disconnect tension cylinder hose (12) at cylinder (13). 10. Position "L" shaped lifting device (14) and a hoist under mobile track frame (15). 11. Remove bolt (16) and remove locking ring (17). Remove large bolt (18). At the time of installation tighten bolt (18) to a torque of 460 N m (340 lb ft). 12. Remove three bolts (19) and retaining plate (20). Slightly lift mobile track frame and remove it from the machine. The mobile track frame weighs approximately 500 kg (1100 lbs). 13. To remove bogie rollers (21) from mobile track frame refer to the illustrations above.14. Remove the bolts and cover. Bend lock (24) and remove spanner nut (25) with lock (24).15. Remove bogie roller from the spindle. Remove bearings (26) and (28) with bogie roller. Remove bearing races (27) and (30) only if needed.16. Remove Duo-Cone seals (29). Repeat steps 14 and 15 for remaining bogie rollers.17. Remove mid roller (22) using the same steps as the bogie rollers. Refer to the Specifications module Form KENR2873 for the bearing pre load setting procedure. 18. For removal of mobile track front wheel group (41) refer to the illustration above.19. Remove retaining bolts (40) then remove upper pin (42) and lower pin (43) to remove front wheel group (41).20. To remove individual front wheels (23) refer to the above illustration.21. Remove bolts (31) and cover (32). Remove bolts (33) and retaining plate (34) with shims. Keep shims with plate for assembly purposes.22. Remove the hub with bearings (35) and (37). If needed remove seal (39) and bearing races (35) and (38).
