Removal Procedure
Move the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".
Personal injury can result from contact with refrigerant.Contact with refrigerant can cause frost bite. Keep face and hands away to help prevent injury.Protective goggles must always be worn when refrigerant lines are opened, even if the gauges indicate the system is empty of refrigerant.Always use precaution when a fitting is removed. Slowly loosen the fitting. If the system is still under pressure, release it slowly in a well ventilated area.Personal injury or death can result from inhaling refrigerant through a lit cigarette.Inhaling air conditioner refrigerant gas through a lit cigarette or other smoking method or inhaling fumes released from a flame contacting air conditioner refrigerant gas, can cause bodily harm or death.Do not smoke when servicing air conditioners or wherever refrigerant gas may be present.Use a certified recovery and recycling cart to properly remove the refrigerant from the air conditioning system.
Recover the air conditioner refrigerant from the air conditioner system. Refer to Service Manual, SENR5664, "Air Conditioning and Heating Systems with R-134a Refrigerant" for the procedure. Refer to Dealer Service Tool Catalog, NENG2500, "Air Conditioning Tools" for the correct tools.

Disconnect harness assembly (2) connected to the evaporator coil and heater coil.

Disconnect hose assembly (3). Remove clamps (4) and position dryer (5) out of the way.

Remove bolt (7) and clamp (8) to disconnect hose assemblies (6). Disconnect hose assemblies (9).

Loosen clamp (10) and disconnect hose assembly (11). Repeat the same for other side.

Attach a suitable lifting device to support air conditioner (15). The weight of air conditioner (15) is approximately 60 kg (132 lb).
Remove nuts (13) and bolts (14). Remove air conditioner (15).

Remove bolts (17). Remove case (16).

Remove bolts (18), screw (20), and valve (19).

Remove heater coil (21) and evaporator coil (22).Installation Procedure
Install the evaporator coil and heater coil in the reverse order of the removal.
Tighten bolts (18) to a torque of 13 3 N m (115 27 lb in).
Tighten nuts (13) and bolts (14) to torque of 6 1 N m (53 9 lb in).
Tighten bolt (7) to a torque of 24 3 N m (212 27 lb in).
Move the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
