Information:

Test Step 1. CHECK THE ENABLE CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
Turn the key start switch and the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
At the EFR, disconnect the 14 contact control circuit harness connector from the module connector. Visually inspect each of the connector contacts for damage or contamination. Verify that the contacts are clean, secured, in the connector and in good condition.
At the mating connector on the EFR, measure the resistance between the enable circuit contact J and a good frame ground point.
At the Drivetrain ECM, disconnect the J1 and the J2 harness connectors. Visually inspect each of the connector contacts for damage or contamination. Verify that the contacts are clean, secured, in the connector and in good condition.
At the J2 machine harness connector for the Drivetrain ECM, measure the resistance between the enable circuit contact J1-12 (wire E865) and a good frame ground point. Expected Result:The resistance measurement between contact J and frame ground is greater than 4000 ohms. The resistance check between the harness enable circuit at the Drivetrain ECM connectors is greater than 4000 ohms. Results:
OK - The enable circuit resistance checks to frame ground do not indicate a short circuit to ground in the machine harness or in the EFR. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NOT OK - One or both of the resistance measurements is less than 4000 ohms. This resistance indicates that there is a short circuit to ground in the machine harness or in the EFR.Repair: If the short to ground is indicated in the EFR, the EFR is faulty. Replace the EFR.If the short circuit is between the enable circuit wire E865 and frame ground, refer to the complete machine Electrical System Schematic. Check all of the connectors that are in the circuit. Ensure that all connections are clean, secure, and in good condition.Check each segment of the enable circuit in order to determine where the short to frame ground is occurring. For information on testing for short circuits and finding short circuits, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Wiring Harness (Short Circuit) - Test". Repair the machine harness or replace machine harness.STOPTest Step 2. CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE ECMNote: This check is intended to determine is the ECM is responding correctly to a change in the circuit. The battery disconnect switch and the key start switch remain in the OFF position.
Reconnect the 14 contact control circuit harness connector to the EFR module.
At the machine harness connector J1 for the Drivetrain ECM, use a 151-6320 Removal Tool to remove the enable circuit wire and socket at contact J1-12 (wire E865) from the harness connector. Reconnect the J2 harness connector to the Drivetrain ECM and reconnect the J1 harness connector to the Drivetrain ECM.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the ON position. Do not start the Engine.
Observe the status of the MID 081, CID 3425 FMI 06 diagnostic code. Expected Result:The MID 081, CID 3425 FMI 06 diagnostic code is no longer active. An MID 081, CID
