A 1P-1854 Retaining Ring Pliers 1 Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Install O-ring seals (17) and backup rings (16) on spool (15).

Install O-ring seal (14) on spool (13).
Install spool (13) and spool (15) in valve body (1).
Install seal (12) and spacer (11) in valve body (1).

Use Tooling (A) to install retaining ring (10) in valve body (1).

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Install O-ring seal (8) on retainer (9).
Install spring (7) and retainer (9) in valve body (1).

Install O-ring seals (4) on plugs (3).
Install balls (6), springs (5), and plugs (3) in valve body (1).

Install the parking brake control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Brake Control Valve (Parking) - Install".
