Joystick with auger control (1) The auger of the Wheel Tractor-Scraper is controlled by a trigger on the joystick. The trigger on the joystick sends switched signals to the Machine Control ECM. The signal for reversing the auger is sent to connector contacts J1-37 and J1-38. Connector contact J1-37 is normally open. Connector contact J1-38 is normally closed.The signal for moving the auger forward is sent to connector contacts J1-54 and J1-55. Connector contact J1-54 is normally closed. Connector contact J1-55 is normally open. When the operator squeezes the trigger on the joystick, the state of the contacts will change. The ECM sends a signal in order to move the auger forward to connector contact J2-3. The ECM sends a signal in order to move the auger in reverse to connector contact J2-8. When the Wheel Tractor-Scraper is started, the auger forward solenoid is de-energized and the auger reverse solenoid is de-energized. When the operator briefly presses the auger switch (trigger), the auger forward solenoid is energized through connector contact J2-3. The auger will begin to spin in the forward direction. The next press of the auger switch (trigger) will de-energize the auger forward solenoid. The auger will stop moving. When the operator holds the auger switch, the auger forward solenoid is de-energized for one second and the auger reverse solenoid is de-energized for one second. After one second, the auger reverse solenoid will be energized through connector contact J2-68. When the operator releases the auger switch, the auger forward solenoid and the auger reverse solenoid will be de-energized. A command for reversing the auger always overrides a command for moving the auger forward.When the hydraulic temperature is above 38 °C (100 °F) and the input from the auger filter switch (connector contact J1-28) is not grounded, an alarm (level 1) will be activated.Switch (Auger Slip Limit)
The switch (auger slip limit) is only on 627G and 637G Wheel Tractor-Scrapers that are equipped with an auger. The switch only has an effect on the operation of the machine when the auger is turning. If the auger is turning and you press the switch, the slip limit solenoid energizes. If the auger is not turning and you press the switch, nothing happens.
