Main Implement Pump (10) Pressure tap (upper pump delivery pressure). (15) Pressure tap (power shift pressure). (16) Upper pump. (17) Load sensing control line (lower pump). (18) Pressure tap (lower pump delivery pressure). (19) Lower pump.
Position the machine on level ground.
Stop the engine.
Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Testing And Adjusting, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".
Install the following tools in accordance with the flow meter tool layout and the circuit diagram. Refer to Illustration 1.
Disconnect the delivery line from lower pump (19) .
Install blank flange (7) and a seal to the end of the delivery line.
Disconnect makeup line (4) from connector (2) at swing motor (1) .
Install a seal and tee (3) to connector (2) .
Connect makeup line (4) to tee (3) .
Connect portable hydraulic tester (11) to lower pump (19) with a hose assembly. Connect portable hydraulic tester (11) with a hose assembly to the tee on swing motor (1) .
Connect 6000 kPa (870 psi) pressure gauge (14) to pressure tap (15). This is used to measure power shift pressure.
Install multitach group (20) to engine (21). This is used to monitor engine speed.
Remove the tube assembly from the fitting of the load sensing port for lower pump (19). Install a plug on the end of the tube assembly. Remove load sensing line (17) from the tee. Install a plug in load sensing line (17). Remove the tee fitting from the load sensing port.
Install a tee with two quick disconnect fitting at the load sensing port. Attach a 8T-0861 Pressure Gauge (0 to 8700 psi) (9) to the tee. Use the gauge to measure the lower pump delivery pressure.
Install a hose assembly on pressure tap (18) on lower pump (19). Install the unconnected end of the hose assembly to the tee at the load sensing port.Test
Note: Perform the test for the upper pump and the test for the lower pump one at a time.
Start the engine.
Move the engine speed dial to position "10". This is high idle engine speed.
Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55 5°C (130 10°F).
The power shift pressure should read 1850 kPa (270 psi) on the pressure gauge at pressure tap (15) .Note: The power shift pressure should be set to this constant value during the test.
Maintain either one of the main pump pressures at 4900 kPa (700 psi) and keep the other pump without load.Note: To prevent a change in power shift pressure during the pump flow tests, do not turn the engine OFF.

(11) Portable hydraulic tester (flow meter). (20) Multitach. (22) Valve.
Turn valve (22) on portable hydraulic tester (11) clockwise. Record pump flow at each of the following pressures in Table 1. Use pressure gauge (9) at pressure tap (10) to monitor upper pump delivery pressure or use pressure tap (18) to monitor lower pump delivery pressure.
