This manual contains important instructions for the switchgear that is used in the power module. These instructions should be followed during installation and maintenance. Clean the warning signs or replace the warning signs if the words cannot be read or if the illustrations are not visible. Use a cloth, water, and soap to clean the warning signs. Do not use solvents, gasoline, or other harsh chemicals. Solvents, gasoline, or harsh chemicals could loosen the adhesive that secures the warning signs. The warning signs that are loosened could drop off of the system.Replace any warning sign that is damaged or missing. If a warning sign is attached to a part of the system that is replaced, install a new warning sign on the replacement part. Your Caterpillar dealer can provide new warning signs.It is important to be familiar with the switchgear before you attempt operation of the switchgear or before you attempt maintenance on the switchgear. Only qualified personnel should be authorized to perform these functions. This restriction is because of the hazards that are associated with your work in electrical equipment and your work around electrical equipment.Working with electrical equipment exposes workers to the hazard of electrical shock. Read this manual in order to become aware of the hazard of electrical shock. Follow the instructions in this manual. Read all of the notices for danger. The motor starter compartment should not be accessed unless the equipment is de-energized. Personal injury and/or damage to the switchgear could occur if the motor starter compartment is accessed when the equipment is energized. Do not operate the power module if the cover for the motor starter compartment is not installed. Ensure that the cover for the motor starter compartment is installed. Bodily contact with electrical potential will cause personal injury or death.
Failure to connect the unit to a suitable grounding electrode will result in electrical shock and will cause injury or death.
High voltage may be present. The power source must be disconnected before working on the equipment. Failure to disconnect the power source could result in injury or death. Verify that the equipment is not energized before performing any maintenance. This work must be performed by trained personnel with correct tools and procedures. Bodily contact with electrical potential will cause personal injury or death.
