Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Personal injury can result from the sudden release of high pressure oil.Be sure the engine has been shut off for a minimum of five minutes to ensure that the accumulator pressure is zero.The accumulator is filled with dry nitrogen. Do not loosen or remove the valve or the cap from the top of the accumulator.

Use Tool (A) and a suitable lifting device in order to support accumulator (1) .
Remove clamp (2) .

Remove pressure sensor (3). Disconnect hose assembly (4). Remove adapter (5) .
Remove clamp (6) .
Remove accumulator (1). The weight of accumulator (1) is approximately 554 kg (1221 lb).
Repeat Step 3 through Step 5 for the remaining accumulator (6) .
