Pressurized oil is supplied to the cylinder bores via the connection plate and through one of the ports. 3 to 3.5 bores are open above the kidney-shaped port (pressure side). The remaining bores are open opposite the other port (return line side) or are partially closed by the control plate. In neutral and during starting, the cylinder is pressed against the control plate by the spiral spring on the journal.When the pressure rises, the cylinder is so well balanced that an oil film is continuously maintained between the control surface of the cylinder and the control plate; and leakage is kept to a minimum, even under heavy load conditions.The operating parts are in an oil-tight casing with two high pressure connections and two leak-oil connection is uppermost for draining off leak-oil. The leak-oil simultaneously lubricates the driving gear. For this reason, it is important to fill the hydraulic motor with oil at the leak-oil connection when first starting the machine or after motor repairs or replacement.The driving gear is sealed outwardly by a radial gasket ring and an O-ring. The purge valve is not fitted in the BMF fixed displacement motor.
