Read and understand the safety section in the Operation and Maintenance Manual before performing any service or repair.
If necessary, rotate cab in order to gain access in order to remove bottom guard. If equipped, turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position. If there is no battery disconnect switch, remove the negative battery cable at the battery.
Remove engine bay bottom guard, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Bottom Guard - Remove and Install" for more information. Remove the flexible exhaust pipe, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Muffler - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Wash down the machine and engine do not direct water onto electrical connection or electrical components.
Degrease flywheel housing with a suitable cleaner and wipe clean with a suitable lint free cloth.
Clean the effected area with a suitable abrasive paper or wire brush and rub down with suitable abrasive paper to prepare surface for painting. 160-0774 Wire Bush can be used.
Wipe over with a suitable lint free cloth and cleaner to remove debris and residues from surface prior to painting. 265-2256 Wipers can be used.
Paint flywheel housing with cat yellow top coat paint and wait to dry according to the paint manufacturers instructions. 4C-4184 Yellow Paint, 4C-6129 Yellow Paint, or 4C-4200 Paint can be used.
Once dry, cover flywheel housing with cloth for protection and install flexible exhaust pipe refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Muffler - Remove and Install".
Remove cloth and install bottom guard, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Bottom Guard - Remove and Install".
If equipped, turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position. If there is no battery disconnect switch, install the negative battery cable at the battery. If necessary, rotate the cab.
If the machine is to be stored, disconnect the power from the battery.
