(33) Hydraulic pump.Note: The generator mounting location on the 345C MH is located on the other side of the boom.Note: In order to activate the circuit for the magnet, the grapple/magnet switch (35) must be in the MAGNET position. The generator is an electro-mechanical device which is designed in order to convert the mechanical energy into electrical energy (DC). The generator must be operated at the rated speed in order to develop the full rated voltage and power. For optimum performance, the speed must be maintained within a 1800 75 RPM range. The generator is a compound, field-wound unit which is self-regulated between zero and full load. The generated voltage is 230 volts when the generator is at a constant speed of 1800 RPM and the magnet is lifting. The generator is designed with extra thermal protection. The extra thermal protection still provides an adequate degree of safety. The generator is mechanically mounted in order to resist shock and vibration from the machine. A hydraulic gear pump or a hydraulic piston pump (33) takes suction from the hydraulic tank of the machine. The hydraulic oil passes through the suction hose (32) to the pump (33) . The hydraulic gear pump provides a constant flow of hydraulic oil to the generator circuit. Hydraulic oil from the pump (33) passes through hose (31) to the hydraulic motor that is located in the cab riser. The hydraulic oil is sent through a manifold which is used to control the operation of the generator. When
