(1) 9X7803 Alternator. (2) Breaker. (3) Connecting wire.Using the proper gauge wire, connect high current accessories directly to the alternator through a circuit breaker placed as close to the alternator output stud as possible. See chart for proper breaker and wire sizes.
The output stud on the 9X7803 Alternator is 1/4 inch diameter and will not directly fit the 7/16 inch diameter ring terminal used on some existing machine harnesses. The harness can be adapted to the new alternator stud with a 7T9930 Adapter Nut or by replacing the machine harness terminal ring with a 1/4 in diameter terminal ring. The new terminal ring must be soldered to the harness.
The 9X7803 Alternator must be equipped with a pulley that will rotate the alternator at about 2300 rpm with the engine at low idle, to achieve acceptable low idle performance. When replacing the pulley, larger belts may be required and/or a second belt added.
