The oil sample shows levels of copper that are more than 20 ppm or the ISO Particle Count for copper is higher than 23/19.
The oil in the final drive is changed.Do not allow thickness (A) of 187-1489 Plate to get below 28 mm (1.10 inch). Allowing thickness (A) of the plate to get below 28 mm (1.10 inch) increases the risk for the following conditions:
The primary sun gear wears into the secondary sun gear.
The primary sun gears overlap the primary planet gears which cause high contact stress on the gear teeth.
The spline of the TCS gear on the axle shaft become disengaged from the TCS gear.Note: The 797 (S/N: 5YW1-233) Off-Highway Trucks use 139-7660 Thrust Plate. Do not allow thickness (A) of 139-7660 Thrust Plate to get below 23 mm (0.9 inch).
