Removal Procedure
Start By:
Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect" .
Park the machine on a flat, level surface. Lower the bucket to the ground. Engage the parking brake. Chock the wheels in order to keep the machine from rolling when the drive shaft is removed.

Remove bolts (1) and straps (2) at the end of drive shaft (3).

Slide drive shaft (3) onto the splined end (4).
Disconnect the drive shaft from rear yoke (5) and provide clearance for removal.

Remove bolts (6) and straps (7) that hold the drive shaft to front yoke (8).
Remove the drive shaft from the machine. The weight of the drive shaft is approximately 18 kg (40 lb). Installation Procedure

Install the drive shaft to the front yoke (8) with straps (7) and bolts (6). The weight of the drive shaft is approximately 18 kg (40 lb).

Install drive shaft (3) to the rear yoke (5).

Install straps (2) and bolts (1) at the cast end of drive shaft (3). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 70 15 N m (52 11 lb ft). End By:
Connect steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
