INSULATION 1224135 - Caterpillar

1. Lift the lift arms (1) to a near horizontal position. Put tooling (D) under the support on the lift arms and put the bucket in the full dump position. 2. Remove retaining bolt (3) from pin (2) and the rear lever.3. Put a wood block between the lift arm and the tilt cylinder to hold the tilt cylinder in alignment so that pin (2) can be removed. 4. Remove pin (2) with tooling (A). 5. Remove two bolts and retaining plate (4) that hold pin (6) and rod (5). 6. Fasten a hoist to the rod end of the lift cylinder and remove pin (6) with tooling (B). Lower the lift cylinder and remove the hoist. 7. Remove retaining bolt (8) from the rear levers. This will permit pin (7) to be removed. 8. Remove pin (7) with tooling (A).9. Fasten a hoist and a nylon strap to the rear levers to hold it in position. 10. Remove two bolts and retaining bar (9) and use tooling (C) to remove pin (10). Tooling (C) must be fastened to a hoist to hold it in position. 11. Remove rear levers (11). Weight of each lever is 88 lb. (39.92 kg).Install Rear Levers
Make sure the lift arms are held in a near horizontal position with tooling (D) before the rear levers are installed.
1. With the use of a hoist and a nylon strap lift outer rear lever (2) in position and install pin (1) with tool (A). Install pin (1) just enough to hold lever (2) to the lift arm. 2. Lower the outer lever to the stop position and fasten a hoist and nylon strap to inner rear lever (3). Make sure the bores in the levers are in alignment with each other.3. Install pin (1) the remainder of the distance through the outer and inner rear levers with tool (A). 4. Install retaining bar (5) with two bolts (4) and lockwashers to hold pin (1) in place. 5. Put outer rear lever (2), link (8) and inner rear lever (3) in alignment and install pin (6) through the three bores with tool (B). 6. Install retaining bolt (7) through inner lever (3) to hold pin (6) in place. 7. Use a nylon strap and a hoist to put rod (10) in alignment with bores in rod (10) and the lift arm.8. Install pin (9) with tool (C). 9. Install retaining bar (11) with two bolts (12) and lockwashers to hold pin (9) in place.10. Fasten a hoist and a nylon strap to the head end of the tilt cylinder. Put the head end in alignment with bores in the inner and outer levers. 11. Install pin (13) with tool (B). Hold pin (13) in position with a bolt which is installed through the inner rear lever.
