AP-1055B (8BM),
BG-2455C (6TN) ASPHALT PAVERSProblem:
The belt tracking for the AP-1055B and BG-2455C Asphalt Pavers that have the Mobile Track System (MTS) may be incorrect. Solution:
Follow these steps to diagnose and correct the problem:1. Raise the machine so the tracks are not contacting the ground.2. Run the machine, in travel at full speed for 15 minutes, to warm the belt.3. Run the machine in 5 minute increments and adjust the alignment arm between each run until the track is at the "hard out" position and then at the "hard in" position.4. If the adjustment to the "hard out" and "hard in" positions are present, perform the following steps:A) Note the number of turns to the jacking screw to reach the "hard out" and "hard in" positions (there should be approximately 2 1/2 turns between the two positions).B) Position the jacking screws to the halfway point of the two positions (half the number of turns in Step A).C)Run the machine in 5 to 10 minute increments at full travel speed. Between runs take temperature differential measurements between the inside surfaces of the front two 120-7027 Idler Wheels and adjust the jacking screw in 1/8 to 1/4 turn increments until the temperature differential is less than 30 °F.D) The track is now aligned.5. If adjustment to the "hard out" and "hard in" positions are not present, perform the following steps:A) Loosen both the front mounting bolt and the stub shaft mounting plate.B) Inspect the space between the contacting face of the front axle and track frame.C) If a gap is present, add an adequate number of shims until the gap is eliminated and the shims are tight. Use one or a combination of the following shims: 142-0345 Shim (1/4 inch), 142-0036 Shim (1/8 inch), or 166-1334 Shim (1/16 inch).D) If there is not a gap present, but the track is running at the "hard in" position, pull the frame out slightly and add one 142-0036 Shim (1/8 inch).E) If the track is running at the "hard out" position, remove one 1/8 inch worth of shims and perform Step F.F) Run the machine after completing Steps B through E and see if the ability to adjust the track to the "hard in" and "hard out" positions is gained. If the adjustment is not gained. repeat Steps A through E.( Adding too many shims may cause the frame to fall off the front axle. Be sure there is adequate contact between the milled surface of the front axle and the track frame, approximately 3/4 inch.) If the belt is still unable to be aligned, an inspection of the track components through Step 6 may be needed to be performed.G) Align belt according to Step 4.6. The following steps may be performed to correct the tracking problem, as well as other structural problems. However, these changes are preliminary and may be changed after further testing is completed.A) Remove the belt from the track frame.B) Run a string line from the middle of
