The power shift solenoid is located on the pilot manifold.Connect Cat Electronic Technician (ET) to the machine. Turn the key start switch to the ON position. Do not start the engine. Select the service menu for the machine that is being serviced. Select the calibrations from the service menu. Select the power shift solenoid (calibration) for the power shift pressure from the submenu. The screen for the power shift solenoid (calibration) will be displayed.

Main Implement Pump (1) Pressure tap for the power shift pressure. (2) Upper and lower implement pumps.
Attach a 6V-3081 Hose As to pressure tap (1) .
Attach the unconnected end of the hose assembly to a 8T-0856 Pressure Gauge (4000 kPa (600 psi)).
Start the engine.
Run the engine until the cooling temperature gauge on the monitor reaches the green area (30 °C (85 °F)).
Warm the hydraulic oil to 55 5°C (130 10°F).
Leave the engine speed dial in position "1". This is low idle engine speed for the machine that is being serviced.

Characteristic Curve (P to S)
Press the start button on the display. The software will calibrate the power shift pressure. ET will display the recommended power shift pressures.
Low work output at high idle 2800 kPa (405 psi)
High work output at low idle 1000 kPa (145 psi)
If the calibration fails one of the following messages will appear on the display.
Table 2
Response     Reason for Failure
The machine was moved.     Movement of the throttle switch
The engine speed is 15 RPM outside the High Idle range. The engine speed is 15 RPM outside the Low Idle range.
Active Diagnostic Codes     Pressure sensor, Solenoid, or Throttle switch
The hydraulic circuit is not responding.     Hydraulic pressure is not responding to changes in the current on the solenoid valve.
The engine is not running.     The engine was not started.
If calibration is successful the following message will appear on the display.

Response
Successful Calibration     The calibration was performed successfully. The values were saved.
Exit the service menu on ET.
Shut off the engine. Wait for approximately ten seconds before you start the engine.
Move the engine speed dial to position "10". All controls remain in the NEUTRAL position. Record the power shift pressure. The power shift pressure should be 2600 to 3140 kPa (377 to 455 psi).
Move the engine speed dial to position "1".
Shut off the engine.
Remove the test equipment.
