REMOVE CYLINDER LINERS FROM PARTS STOCKS, 3304, 3306 ENGINES IN ALL APPLICATIONS, 1216, PI7144 U-45 A-23 C-34 TT-8 TA-4 TM-4 parts stock action only
Problem
Some cylinder liners in parts stocks for 3304 and 3306 Engines have too large a chamfer on the liner flange. This can cause block erosion and/or a reduction in liner projection.
Action Required
Inspect all boxes of 2P8889 Liners in your parts stock. This was also requested by a Terminal Message from Morton dated March 25, 1985. If the date code on the box is 1-85 or earlier, remove the liner from parts stock. All liners in boxes stamped 2-85 or later are satisfactory. WARRANTY ALLOWANCES Submit one claim for all liners in parts stock with date codes of 1-85 or earlier. Attach a copy of the shipping invoice to the claim.
Parts Disposition
U.S. And Canadian Dealers Return all parts removed from parts stock to the address which follows. Send the Factory Claim copy to 61629-1310 (Canadian; 61629-6365). State on the claim that the parts have been sent to R. L. Lewis Industries. Send all liners in one shipment. R. L. Lewis Industries Attn: Troy Shults R.
