This Program must be administered as soon as possible.When reporting the repair, use "PI32096" as the Part Number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Codeand "T" as the SIMS Description code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI32096" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number,"96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

PROBLEM
Certain C32 Petroleum Engines were shipped with reduced or necked down exhaust pipes to increase exhaust back pressure. There is now a washer available to weld into the inlet of the diesel oxidation catalyst. These washers need to be added and the exhaust pipes removed to provide a more robust solution to increasing exhaust back pressure.

Certain C32 Petroleum Engines were shipped with reduced or necked down exhaust pipes to increase exhaust backpressure. There is now a washer available to weld into the inlet of the diesel oxidation catalyst. These washers need to be added and the exhaust pipes removed to provide a more robust solution to increasing exhaust backpressure. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 27Sep2012 when scheduling this service.

Rework Procedure
Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, KENR8167 for the removal of the exhaust elbows.
With exhaust elbows removed, add 390-4011 washers to the inlets of the diesel oxidation catalysts on both sides, following the weld rework procedure. Once washers have been added remove the
