The 434-6509 Water Ferrule Pressure ToolThe 434-6509 Water Ferrule Pressure Tool is used to test for leaks on the cylinder heads of 3500 series engine platforms. The tool is used during the cylinder block salvage procedure where there is pitting in the water ferrule areas.The tool assembly consists of rubber seals, adapter, and sleeve, along with a 4C-7158 quick disconnect. Most the tool assembly is made out of steel and easy to use. The tool allows the user to perform pressure test on the cylinder heads.Operation

7     Clamping Wheel     1    The 434-6509 Water Ferrule Pressure Tool is used to test leaks in the bore by connecting an air hose to the fitting (quick disconnect) on the tool and applying the appropriate pressure. Soapy water is sprayed on the surface and after the 434-6509 tool has been inserted, the operator will inspect for bubbles.Inspection and Maintenance Section
Inspection
Inspect tooling prior to each use for damage, bending, nicks, burrs, dents, cracks, bent or worn parts.
Do not use if tooling is bent, cracked, or damaged.
Do not use if hardware is damaged or missing.
Have the tool inspected annually by an approved dealership inspector.Cleaning
Clean the tooling using a non-solvent based cleaner.Repair

Unscrew the knurled knob (3) to remove or install rubber washer seals (5)
