Removal Procedure
Ensure that all adjustments and repairs that are carried out to the fuel system are performed by authorized personnel that have the correct training.Before beginning ANY work on the fuel system, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "General Hazard Information and High Pressure Fuel Lines" for safety information. Refer to System Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Cleanliness of Fuel System Components" for detailed information on the standards of cleanliness that must be observed during ALL work on the fuel system.
Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury, turn the start switch off when changing fuel filters or water separator elements. Clean up fuel spills immediately.
Raise the hood.
Turn the fuel supply to the OFF position.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Remove panels (1).

Disconnect harness assemblies (4). Remove bolts (3) and electronic control module (2).

Disconnect harness assembly (7). Disconnect hose assemblies (8) and (9). Remove three bolts (5) and fuel priming pump (6).

Remove plug (10). Remove connector (13). Remove bolts (12) and manifold (11) from fuel priming pump (6). Installation Procedure
Install fuel priming pump (6) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten plug (10) to the following torque 8 1 N m (71 9 lb in).
Tighten bolts (12) to the following torque 6.9 0.3 N m (61 3 lb in).
Tighten connector (13) to the following torque 18.5 1 N m (164 9 lb in).
Prime the fuel system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System - Prime"for the correct procedure.
