November 2000 CHANGE TO CORE RETURN PROCEDURES FOR REMAN MAJOR COMPONENTS AnnouncementEffective 1 December 2000, dealers in NACD, Canada, and Mexico are asked to return all REMAN Major Component cores listed below to Corinth Mississippi with the dealers' normal core returns. In the past, dealers were asked to send Major Components to Caterpillar Inc. C/O Gremada Industries, Fargo, North Dakota. With this change, affected dealers will be sending all REMAN Products cores to Corinth except 3500 engines. Dealers will continue to send 3500 engine cores to Lafayette, Indiana. Dealers outside of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico are not affected by this change. Dealers are advised that SELD0039-05 (Caterpillar Remanufactured Products Guide Shipping Instructions) and SELD0040-07 (Caterpillar Remanufactured Products Guide Core Management Systems and Operations Procedures) will be revised to reflect these changes. Although a paper copy of these instructions will not be available until early next year's revision, an electronic copy of each media number is available on the NACD Infocast site (under the Core Administration heading):

Core Acceptance Criteria for all of these components remain the same. With this change in shipping location, cores will now be inspected and processed in Corinth. Core Credit Requests will be processed and entered into the system in the same location as the inspection. This should mean faster processing for dealers.
Shipping
The criteria for sending shipments to Corinth, remains the same. Dealers should make a shipment to Corinth at least every two weeks or earlier when the dealer has 40,000 lbs. of core material. Cores will be shipped to:
