Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
Personal injury can result working with the tire and rim without precautions.Personal injury can result if the weight shifts and causes movement of the tire and rim.When starting nuts on the studs, do not put your arm between the rim and final drive without first wedging a block of hardwood between the rim and final drive.
Park the machine on a flat, level surface. Lower the bucket to the ground. Engage the parking brake. Chock the wheels in order to keep the machine from rolling.

Remove bolts (1).

Remove bolts (2) and plate (3).

Position suitable cribbing between the axle housing and the frame. This will prevent the axle from oscillating when the tire and the rim assembly is removed.

Block the front tires. Raise the machine with a suitable lifting device. Position Tooling (A) under the machine.

Support tire and rim assembly (6) with a suitable lifting device. Remove bolts (5), and remove tire and rim assembly (6). The weight of tire and rim assembly (6) is approximately 213 kg (470 lb). Note: Use Steps 5 and 6 for the front tire and rim removal.Installation procedure

Use a suitable lifting device and bolts (5) in order to install tire and rim assembly (6). The weight of tire and rim assembly (6) is approximately 213 kg (470 lb). The initial torque for bolts (5) is 300 40 N m (220 30 lb ft). Then turn bolts (5) by an additional 60 5 degrees.

Raise the machine with a suitable lifting device. Remove Tooling (A).

Remove the suitable cribbing.

Use bolts (2) in order to install plate (3).
