1. Attach a lifting sling and remove two bolts (1) and separate the recoil spring assembly from the front idler.
Extreme caution should be exercised when compressing the recoil spring assembly due to high spring tension forces. Personal injury or death can be the result.
2. Cautiously, compress the recoil spring assembly and remove roll pin (2), nut (3), pilot (4) and recoil spring (5). The following steps are to install the recoil spring.3. Install recoil spring (5) and pilot (4).4. Compress the recoil spring assembly cautiously, and install nut (3) and roll pin (2).5.
