Move the levers for the coupler pins to the ENGAGED position.

Route the auxiliary hydraulic lines (4) for the work tool through the hose guide (5) on the frame mounting bracket.
Ensure that the quick-connects are free from dirt. Failure to keep the quick-connects clean could result in damage to hydraulic system components.
Note: Do not use the hose guide on the machine.
Connect the auxiliary hydraulic lines for the auger to the host machine. Twist the collar of the quick disconnect coupling for one quarter of a turn in order to secure the hydraulic connections.

While the loader arms are fully lowered, visually inspect the quick coupler in order to ensure that the coupler pins (7) are fully extended through the corresponding holes (6) of the frame mounting bracket.
Perform the following procedure to install the auger bit onto the auger drive.

Block up auger drive (8) so that shaft (9) is horizontal.
Use a suitable lifting device to align auger bit (10) with shaft (9). Install the auger bit onto the shaft.

Install bolt (12) and two nuts (11). Tighten both nuts to 230 30 N m (170 20 lb ft).

Rotate the auger teeth on each new day of operation. Rotate the auger teeth from the outside of one side to the inside of the other side. If necessary, change the cutting angle of the auger teeth for the soil conditions. A 40° cutting angle is best when you are operating in compact soil conditions or in hard soil conditions. A 50° cutting angle is best when you are operating in loose soil conditions.
Test the work tool for leaks and for proper operation.Removing the Work Tool
Disengaging the coupler pins will release the work tool from control of the operator.Serious injury or death may result from disengaging the work tool when the work tool is in an unstable position or carrying a load.Place the work tool in a stable position before disengaging the coupler pins.
Auxiliary hoses for work tools must be disconnected before the quick coupler is disengaged.Pulling the work tool with the auxiliary hoses could result in damage to the host machine or the work tool.
Perform the following procedure in order to remove the auger bit from the auger drive.
Block up the auger drive and use a suitable lifting device to support the auger bit.
Remove the two nuts and bolt.
Remove the auger bit from the auger drive.
Enter the host machine.
Fasten the seat belt and lower the armrest.
Start the engine.
Disengage the parking brake.
Rack back the auger and slowly lower the auger to the ground.
Tilt the auger forward until the mounting bracket is slightly off the ground.
Place the direction control in NEUTRAL. Engage the parking brake.
Turn the engine start switch key to the OFF position in order to stop the engine.
Follow the procedure in the Operation and Maintenance Manual of the host machine to relieve any pressure within the auxiliary hydraulic lines. For Caterpillar Skid Steer Loaders, use the following procedure.
