To prevent possible personal injury, make sure all cushion hitch components are completely lowered, the pressure from the hydraulic system has been released and the engine has been shut off for a minimum of five minutes to be sure the accumulator oil pressure is zero. The accumulator is filled with dry nitrogen. Do not loosen or remove the valve from the cap on top of the accumulator. A bleed screw at the bottom of the accumulator can be used to release any pressure that remains in the system.
Release the pressure in the hydraulic system as follows:a. Shut off the engine.b. Move the control levers through their full travel strokes. This will relieve any pressure that may be present in the pilot system.c. Slowly loosen the air breather cap on the hydraulic oil tank to release the pressure.d. Tighten the air breather cap on the hydraulic oil tank.e. The pressure in the hydraulic system has been released. Lines and components can now be removed. Put identification on all lines, the hoses, the wires and the tubes for installation purposes. Cap and plug all of the lines, the hoses and the tubes to prevent foreign material from entering the system. Drain the hydraulic oil from the cushion hitch leveling valve in a suitable container for storage or disposal.1. Remove cotter pin (7) to disconnect linkage (6).2. Disconnect hoses (4), (5) and (8). Disconnect tube (3).3. Disconnect hose (9) from the rear of the leveling valve.4. Remove nuts (2) and the bolts to remove cushion hitch leveling valve (1). The following steps are for the installation of the cushion hitch leveling (control) valve.5. Put cushion hitch leveling valve (1) in position. Install the bolts and nuts (2).6. Connect hose (9) to the rear of the cushion hitch leveling valve.7. Connect linkage (6) to the valve with cotter pin (7).8. Connect tube (3) to the cushion hitch leveling valve.9. Connect hoses (4), (5) and (8) to the cushion hitch leveling valve.
