KEY 4J1679 - Caterpillar

Procedure
Remove the center drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, RENR4661 (9EP5391), "R1700G LHD Power Train", "Drive Shaft (Center) - Remove and Install".

Remove yoke (1). Discard yoke (1) .

Install new 9EP7746 Yoke (2). Refer to Specifications, RENR4659 (9EP5389), "R1700G LHD Power Train", "Drive Shafts".

Remove yoke (3). Discard yoke (3) .

Apply 4C-9507 Retaining Compound to the threads of 0S-2318 Bolts (10) prior to assembly. Tighten the bolts to a torque value of 300 20 N m (220 15 lb ft).

Install new 9EP8313 Yoke (11). Refer to Specifications, RENR4659 (9EP5389), "R1700G LHD Power Train", "Drive Shafts".
All yokes must be in alignment when the drive shafts are installed.
Install new 161-8201 Slip Joint Group (12). Apply 4C-9507 Retaining Compound to the threads of 0S-2318 Bolts (13). Tighten the bolts to a torque value of 300 20 N m (220 15 lb ft).
Lubricate the drive shaft assembly. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7323 (9EP5408), "R1700G LHD", "Drive Shaft Universal Joints, Splines, and Bearings - Lubricate".
