New Update Layer File
This option creates new update layers from the site model. The new update layer file extracts the region from the site model group specified. The new update layer file does not update any site models.Creating an Update Layer File
Perform the following procedure:
In the "Control Center", click "Manage and Transfer Files", or click the "File Manager" menu "File Manager" is open.
Click the "New" drop-down list in the toolbar, and click "Update Layer".
Enter the name for the file. The file name indicates the site model type-selected file name. If the file name exists, a prompt appears asking if the file should be overwritten.
If the user is creating an empty file only, refer to "Creating an Empty File".
Select the site model type The site model holds a record of the current state of that particular area. Update any machines with a site model of the applicable type that begin work in an area where another machine has been working. The update is necessary so that the correct productivity calculations are made.The following types of site model are updated by snippets from the machines.
Original Ground Time
Current Elevation Time
Material Mined Time
Select the appropriate group for this file. Select "Site" if this file is not applicable to any one specific group.
From the drop-down list, select a bounding region template. New templates can be created and saved if a suitable one is not already defined. Choose from the following options.
Use entire area.
Use bounds specified in a layer of a .dxf file.
Manually enter the bounds.Note: Enter a number for all four bounds before clicking "OK".When selecting to use bounds specified in a layer, select an alternate .dxf file and layer. Be sure to select a .dxf file with suitable bounds. Additionally, select the relevant layer.When manually entering the bounds, enter the minimum and maximum extents of the region. The points needed are the upper right points east and north and the lower left point east and north.
Click "OK". Sending an Update Layer File
Perform the following procedure:
In the "Machine List" screen, click then right-click the machine to send the file to.
Select "Send Update Layer".
In the "Transfer Options" section do the following:
Ensure that the destination machine is correct.
Select the "Activate" check box to activate the file after successfully sending the file to the machine.
Select the "Make Primary" check box to make the file the primary design file after successfully sending the file to the machine.
In the "File Details and Bounding Region" sections, fill in fields and options as if creating an update layer file.
Click "OK".
The "Transfer Status" panel on "File Manager" shows the status of the file. Updating As-Built Surface Files
The office software creates as-built surface files that include a time stamp. The file that is created by the office software includes time in the name of the file. An example is curelevtime.cat.When as-built surface information needs retained from old as-built surface files, the old as-built surface files must be merged into new as-built surface files.
