Remove the torque converter.

Remove retaining ring (1) and remove sun gear (2) .

Remove top bolt (3). Install Tooling (A). Remove remaining bolts (3) .
Fasten Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to flywheel (4). The weight of flywheel (4) is approximately 40 kg (85 lb).Note: If your engine is equipped with a Rear Power Take-Off RPTO, you will need to keep Tooling (A) installed. Tooling (A) will hold the crankshaft gear in place during the removal of the flywheel.
Remove flywheel (4) .
Use a hammer and a punch in order to remove the flywheel ring gear, if necessary.Installation Procedure
Install flywheel (4) in the reverse order of removal.
Raise the temperature of the flywheel ring gear. Do not use a torch to heat the flywheel ring gear. Install the flywheel ring gear on the flywheel. Position the flywheel ring gear with the part number toward the crankshaft. Allow the flywheel ring gear to cool. Use a soft hammer in order to seat the flywheel ring gear against the shoulder of the flywheel.
Apply Tooling (C) to the threads of bolts (3)
Tighten bolts (3) evenly to a torque of 300 40 N m (221 30 lb ft).
Check the flywheel runout. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Flywheel - Inspect".
