March 200X4 ULTRASONIC WEAR INDICATOR SOFTWARE UPGRADE
A number of improvements were made to the software inside the black Ultrasonic Wear Indicator III (part number 168-7721). These software updates were designed for use with the new Custom Track Service (CTS) version 5.5, however, tools with the new software can be used with any version of CTS including PC-CTS, CTS 2000, CTS 5.0, and CTS 5.5. This latest version of ultrasonic software includes the following:
New Storage Locations in the Ultrasonic Wear Indicator III Include: Odometer Reading Total Odometer Reading
Forward Odometer Reading
Reverse Odometer Reading
Odometer Units (Miles, KM, or Hours)
Track Roller Frame Extension
Link Part Number
Sprocket Condition (Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor)
Additional changes Faster transfer of data to and from the CTS program
Defaulting the Inspection Date to the most recently entered date
Defaulting the carrier Roller Tool to the most recently entered tool
Users with an earlier Ultrasonic Wear Indicator (green case) cannot be updated, however, you DO NOT need to purchase a new tool for use with CTS 5.5. CTS will import data from these tools.
Determining Your Ultrasonic Wear Indicator Version
To find out what version of software is on an Ultrasonic Wear Indicator, with the tool turned off, press and hold the LOC/MACH button and turn the unit on. If current, the display will read ?VERSION 3.6?
Ordering Instructions
A small software program to update (flash) the Ultrasonic Wear Indicator software to Version 3.6 is available on a CD through the literature distribution system. The Media Number for this CD is NEHS0907.
Installation instructions are included on the CD, providing a step-by-step process to update the software in a tool.
