General
Accumulated grease and oil on a machine is a fire hazard. Remove this debris with steam cleaning or high pressure water, at least every 1000 hours or each time any significant quantity of oil is spilled on a machine.
Wipe all fittings, caps and plugs before servicing.Keep a close watch for leaks. If leaking is observed, find the source and correct the leak.Check the fluid levels more frequently than the recommended periods if leaking is suspected or observed.Electrical System
When jump starting a machine, follow the instructions in "Engine Starting" in the "Operation Section" to properly start the engine.This machine has a 24 volt starting system. Use only equal voltage for jump starting. The use of a welder or higher voltage will damage the electrical system.
Air Intake System
If the air filter element is contaminated, not only is the engine output reduced but fuel consumption is increased, leading to detrimental exhaust emisson and black smoke.If the air filter indicator piston moves into the red zone, clean or replace the primary element. The primary element can be cleaned up to four times before replacement. The element, when cleaned, should be thoroughly checked for rips or tears in the filter materials. Replace the primary element every year, even though it has not been cleaned four times.The secondary filter element should be replaced at the time the primary filter element is serviced for the fourth time.If the piston moves into the red zone or the exhaust smoke is still black immediately after installing a cleaned element, replace the secondary element with a new one.
Do not try to reuse the secondary element by cleaning it. Always use a new element.After servicing the air filter, push the reset button to reset the filter indicator.
