Use the following procedure to install the new alternator guard and foam filter:
Open the battery disconnect switch.
Remove the three fasteners that are located on the rear of the alternator.

Do not remove the existing cover on the alternator. Refer to the Illustration 1.

If the alternator has an existing alternator guard installed, remove the existing alternator guard. Do not remove the alternator cover located under the alternator guard. Refer to the Illustration 2.
Retain and reuse all the hardware.

Insert the 364-8305 Foam Filter into the 359-5145 Alternator Guard. Rotate the 364-8305 Foam Filter such that the mounting holes in the guard are in the center of the filter clearance holes. Refer to the Illustration 3.

Align and install the new alternator guard and filter media assembly to allow the "B+" terminal to pass through the cutout. Refer to the Illustration 4.
If a D10T is equipped with 197-8820 Charging Alternator Gp, install three 9X-8256 Washers onto three 6V-2313 Bolts, and install the bolts through the holes in the alternator bracket. Install two 198-4775 Hard Washers onto each bolt and install the bolts into the alternator mounting holes. Tighten the bolts to
