The sine wave allows the solenoid to vibrate in position. The vibration prevents the solenoid from sticking in a position.As a joystick control is moved from the NEUTRAL position, the voltage to the proportional solenoids increases from zero (C) to the minimum voltage (B). The Minimum is the minimum voltage in order for the function to operate. As the joystick is moved further, the voltage to the solenoid is increased. The frequency and amplitude of the sine wave remains constant. The solenoid vibrates in the new position.As the joystick control reaches the maximum travel, the voltage reaches the maximum adjusted voltage to the solenoid.Propel Solenoids "A" and "B"

Control valve for propel (1) Propel solenoidsThe machine propel speed is selected with the right joystick button. The signal for the creeper/standard speed button is sent to control module "4". The control module communicates the request to the master module via the J1939 Data Link. The master control module relays the signal to the propel solenoid. The propel solenoids are connected to the control valve and control the direction of travel. The travel speed solenoid will ultimately control the displacement of the travel motor. When the master control module activates the travel speed solenoid (high speed request), pilot oil is sent to the displacement change valve at the travel motor. The swashplate on the travel motor can now be controlled to a maximum angle. Under this condition, the machine will be driven by high speed and low torque. When the displacement solenoid is closed, the swash plate will move to the minimum angle.
