Assembly Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the assembly procedure, the interior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Note: Step 1 is for the work tool joystick.
Install coil assembly (8) and allen head screw (7) .

Install lever kit (6) into the handle.
Install pin (5) into the handle.

Install boot (4) to the handle.

Twist handle (3) into the joystick control and mounting assembly.
Tighten nut (2) to a torque of 40 5 N m (30 4 lb ft).
Install the grommet and wire (1) into the joystick control and mounting assembly.
Repeat Steps 2 through 7 for the joystick control and the mounting on the opposite side.End By: Install the joystick control and the mounting. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Pilot Operated Hydraulic Control - Install".
