Center Console (1) Generator control switchGenerator control switch (1) is located on the operator station. Generator control switch (1) is a two-position toggle switch. The top position of this switch is the ON position. The bottom position of this switch is the OFF position. When the generator control switch is in the ON position, a ground signal is sent to terminal "J2-29" of the operator control unit.

Left Side of Machine (2) Electrical outlets (3) Tool enable switchThe generator power panel is located on the left side of the machine. The panel provides two electrical outlets (2) at 120 VAC or at 240 VAC to supply voltage for the use of electrical lighting and tools. Electrical outlet frequency is determined by engine speed for belt driven generators. Electrical outlet frequency is constant for hydraulic generators. Each electrical outlet is protected by an associated circuit breaker.The generator power panel is equipped with tool enable switch (3). The tool enable switch is a toggle switch with two positions. The bottom position is the OFF position. The top position is the ON position. When this switch is in the ON position, the machine ECM reads a ground signal at terminal "J1-63". When the tool enable switch is in the ON position, the machine ECM prompts the engine ECM to maintain the engine speed at 1100 rpm for machines with the belt driven generator and at 1275 rpm for machines with the hydraulic generator. The tool enable switch allows an operator at ground level to prevent the generator from operating at any frequency higher than 52 Hz. When the tool enable switch is in the OFF position and the generator switch is in the ON position, the machine ECM prompts the engine ECM to maintain the engine speed at an elevated idle speed of 1275 rpm for machines with the belt driven generator and at 1575 rpm for machines with the hydraulic generator. In this case, the engine speed is allowed to go above the elevated idle point. However, the engine speed is not allowed to go below elevated idle level.The engine speed will increase to the elevated idle speed when the engine operates at low idle with the generator control switch (1) in the ON position. The elevated idle speed is determined by the tool enable switch.
