Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the exhaust shield. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Exhaust Shield- Remove and Install".
Remove the exhaust bypass valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Exhaust Bypass Valve - Remove and Install".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Remove eight bolts l (1) and two water line assemblies (2).

Remove two bolts (3) on each elbow assembly (4). There are a total of 32 bolts (3).
Remove elbow assemblies (4).

Remove four bolts (5). There are a total of 64 bolts (5).

Use suitable cribbing to support the large elbow assembly (10) at position (Y).
Remove four bolts (7).

Use a suitable lifting device to lift the manifold assembly (8). Each manifold assembly weighs approximately 125 kg (276 lb).
Use steps 2- 8 on both exhaust assemblies.

Attach a suitable lifting device to the large elbow assembly (10). The large elbow assembly (10) weighs approximately 46 kg (102 lb).
Remove four bolts (11) and six bolts (9).
Remove large elbow assembly (10).
Illustration 9 g06213212Note: Note the orientation of the V-band clamps (12) for assembly purposes. The bolts on improperly installed clamps can damage the exhaust shields.
Remove V-band clamp (12) and remove tube and elbow assembly (13).
