Place straight edge (A) on the surface of main screed plate (4) and the outside end of the extender screed plate (3).

Use tape measure (D) to measure the gap between straight edge (A) and the leading edge of the outside of extender screed plate (3). For the correct angle of attack, the gap should be 2 mm (0.08 inch) to 3 mm (0.12 inch).
If outboard angle of attack adjustment is required, use the outboard angle of attack adjuster only. If height adjustment is necessary, the height adjustment chain must be disconnected. If height adjustment is necessary for the right extender, go to Step 12. If height adjustment is necessary for the left extender, go to Step 15.Note: Do not use the slope control or height control to adjust screed height on the outboard side. Do not adjust the inboard angle of attack adjuster.

Loosen locknut (17) and locknut (14).
To increase the angle of attack, turn bolt (16) clockwise. To decrease the angle of attack, turn bolt (16) counter-clockwise.
Tighten locknut (17) and locknut (14) to a torque of 280 N m (206 lb ft).
Refer to the following steps in order to access the manual height adjust chain on the left extender.

Loosen belt (18) and remove covers (19).

Remove four bolts (20) and washers. Remove cover plate (21).
Refer to the following steps in order to access the height adjust chain on the right extender.

Remove six bolts (22) and washers. Remove cover plate (23).

Loosen lock nut (26), chain tension bolt (25) and motor mounting bolts (27) in order to relieve the tension of height adjustment chain (24).

Locate and remove master link (29). Separate height adjustment chain (24).
Turn outboard height adjuster (28) to raise or lower the extender. Turn the adjuster clockwise in order to raise the extender. Turn the adjuster counter clockwise in order to lower the extender.
Connect height adjustment chain (24) and connect master link (29).
Tighten bolt (25) until height adjustment chain (24) has a deflection of 6 mm (0.25 inch). Tighten lock nut (26).
Tighten motor mounting bolts (27).
Position the cover plates and secure the bolts.Screed Plate Extender Flatness Adjustment

Place straight edge (A) along the trailing edge of extender screed plate (3).

If the trailing edge of the extender screed plate is not flat, reset the inner trailing edge adjusters (7). Do not disturb the outer adjusters.
Loosen nut (8) on top of trailing edge adjusters (7). Turn the trailing edge adjuster counter-clockwise to retract the adjuster.
Tighten nut (8).Reset the Scales

Loosen jam nuts (30) and move indicator (32) to the zero mark on extender height scale (31). Tighten the jams nuts.

Loosen jam nuts (35) and move indicator (34) to the zero mark on extender slope scale (33). Tighten the jams nuts.
