Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. All disassembly and all assembly procedures must be performed on a clean work surface and in a clean hydraulic area. Keep cleaned parts covered and protected at all times.Note: Prior to assembly, all threads that require sealant must be cleaned with a tap.Note: O-rings, gaskets, and seals should always be replaced. A used O-ring may not have the same sealing properties as a new O-ring. Use 1U-6396 O-Ring Assembly Compound during the assembly procedure.Note: Lubricate all components with the lubricant that is being sealed before assembly.

Install bearings (15) into manifold (1) .

Install gear (13) and gear (14) into manifold (1) .

Use Tooling (C) and a suitable press to install shaft (8) into bearing (12) .

Use Tooling (B) to install retaining ring (11) .Note: Lubricate the seal with the lubricant that is being sealed, prior to the performance of this step.
Install seal ring (10) onto shaft (8) .

Install bearing (9) into cover (6) .
Install shaft assembly (8) into cover (6). Then install woodruff key (7) into the slot of the shaft.

Install bolts (5) and cover (6) to manifold (1). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 55 10 N m (41 7 lb ft).
Use Tooling (A) in order to install retaining ring (4) .

(1) Manifold, (2) Allen head screw and (3) Gear
Install allen head screws (2) in order to secure drive gear (3) on the gear pump.End By: Install the transmission and scavenge oil pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Transmission and Scavenge Oil Pump - Install".
