(25) Passage to hydraulic tankNote: The above schematic shows the water spray motors and pumps. The auxiliary pump provides the supply oil to each motor. The return from each motor is sent to the hydraulic tank. Refer to the machine schematic for detailed plumbing information.Each water pump is a centrifugal-type pump. An associated hydraulic motor turns the pump. Each motor is a gear-type motor. While the displacement of the motors differs, the general operation of the motors is the same. Oil flow through the motors is controlled by a solenoid. Water spray solenoid (13) is proportionally controlled. High-pressure water solenoid (18) and water refill solenoid (23) are controlled with digital signals. Each motor has an anticavitation check valve.Water refill pump (9) draws water from an external water source and directs the water into the water tank. Low-pressure water pump (2) and the high-pressure water pump (6) draw water from the water tank. The low-pressure water spray system is equipped with water delivery solenoid (3). This solenoid is energized when the low-pressure water system is operating. The low-pressure pump water and high-pressure water pump deliver water to spray components when the associated water spray system is operating.The above schematic shows the water refill system at rest. Water refill solenoid (23) blocks the supply oil from auxiliary pump (24), and water refill motor (21) does not turn water refill pump (9).The low-pressure water spray system is shown operating in the above illustration. In this case, water spray solenoid (13) and water delivery solenoid (3) are energized. The electrical signal to the water spray solenoid is determined by the desired flow rate set by the operator. A digital signal energizes the water delivery solenoid.When the low-pressure water spray system is operating, supply oil from auxiliary pump (19) flows through flow limiter valve (14) to water spray solenoid (13). The water spray solenoid directs oil to hydraulic motor (11). Oil flows through the motor, causing the motor to turn low-pressure water pump (2). Return oil from the hydraulic motor is sent through a passage to hydraulic tank (15).During low-pressure water spray system operation, changes to the water flow rate affect the current signal to water spray solenoid (13). When high water flow rates are commanded, these current changes affect the flow and pressure on the inlet side of hydraulic motor (11). Flow limiter valve (14) reacts to these changes to maintain a smooth transition during water flow rate changes.
