Before completing this rework, review the safety actions in the Operation and Maintenance Manual.
If failure of the fuel priming pump is suspected, perform the following diagnosis before replacing.
Inspect the Fuel System. For detailed instructions refer to UENR0673, Testing and Adjusting, "Fuel System - Inspect". If necessary, install new primary and secondary fuel filters.
If the problem persists, replace the fuel priming pump. Note that the inline resistor, if installed, should also be removed. For detailed instructions, refer to Special Instruction, REHS6555, "Replacing the Fuel Priming Pump on Certain 3054C and C7.1 (Mech) Machine Engines".
