Remove the undercarriage frame.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Put an alignment mark on the swing gear and bearing (1) and the undercarriage frame for assembly purposes. Remove bolts (2) and the spacers that hold swing gear and bearing (1) to the undercarriage frame.Note: The bolts and spacers that hold the upper structure to the undercarriage frame can be used to install Tooling (A).
Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to swing gear and bearing (1). The weight of swing gear and bearing (1) is approximately 236 kg (520 lb).
Remove swing gear and bearing (1).

Thoroughly clean swing gear and bearing (1).
Remove dust seals (3) and (4) from the outer race and the inner race of swing gear and bearing (1).Installation Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Clean the sealing grooves of the inner race and the outer race with a fine grit sandpaper. Use a cleaning solvent to clean the seal grooves. Be sure that the seal grooves are thoroughly clean and dry prior to installing new dust seals.

Carefully install a new dust seal (3) into the groove of the outer race. Cut the new dust seal (3) at an angle of 90 degrees at the end. Use a file to smoothen the cross section cut of dust seal (3).
Apply Tooling (B) to the 90 degree cross section cut on new dust seal (3). Press the two ends together. Install the joint into the groove of the outer race.
Install a new dust seal (4) in the inner race. Follow the procedure in Steps 2 and 3.
Lubricate swing gear and bearing (1) with clean grease.

Clean the mating surface for swing gear and bearing (1) on the undercarriage frame. Apply a thin coat of Tooling (C) on the mating surface. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to swing gear and bearing (1). The weight of swing gear and bearing (1) is approximately 236 kg (520 lb). Position swing gear and bearing (1) onto the undercarriage frame.

Be sure that the Stamp "S" is positioned on the inner race.

Apply a thin coat of Tooling (D) on the threads of bolts (2). Install the spacers and bolts (2) that hold swing gear and bearing (1) to the undercarriage frame. Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 274 29 N m (202 21 lb ft) then turn an additional 60 degrees 5 degrees.End By:
Install the undercarriage frame.
