Schematic of the switches of the rear steerThis diagnostic code is recorded when both of the inputs are grounded. The possible causes of this failure are listed below:
The signal circuit (wire L922-GY) is grounded.
The signal circuit (wire L923-OR) is grounded.
The switch is faulty.
The ECM has failed. This is unlikely.System Response:The machine response is listed below:
A Category 2 warning is showing on the computerized monitoring system (CMS).
The manual steering will not work until this fault is no longer present.Note: Ensure that the diagnostic code of CID 750 FMI 02 is active before performing this procedure. If the diagnostic code CID 750 FMI 02 is not active, toggle the switch until the diagnostic code CID 750 FMI 02 is active. Note: Use the 146-4080 Digital Multimeter for the measurements in this procedure.Test Step 1. CHECK THE CCW CIRCUIT FOR PROPER OPERATION. This step checks the continuity of the CCW rear steer in the machine harness and the switches.
Turn the key start switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness from the ECM.
Place both the rear steering switches in HOLD.
At the machine harness connector, check continuity from switch contact 21 to return contact 39.Expected Result:With either rear steering switch in the left position, there should be continuity. With both switches in HOLD, there should be no continuity. Results:
OK - Proceed to Test Step 3.
NOT OK - The switch or the machine harness is faulty. Proceed to Test Step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK CCW CIRCUIT OF EACH SWITCH This step determines whether the switch or the machine harness is faulty.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position.
At each rear steering switch, disconnect the wire (L922-GY) from terminal 10 and the wire (229-BK) from the terminal 11.
At each switch, check continuity between the terminal 10 and the terminal 11.Expected Result:With the rear steering switch in the LEFT position, there should be continuity. With the switch in HOLD, there should be no continuity. Results:
OK - The machine harness is faulty. Repair: The CCW circuit (wire L922-GY) is grounded in the machine harness. Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness. STOP
NOT OK - The switch is faulty.Repair: Replace the rear steering switch.STOPTest Step 3. CHECK FOR PROPER OPERATIONCW CIRCUITThis step checks the continuity of the CW rear steering circuit in the machine harness and the switches.
The key start switch remains in the OFF position.
Place both the rear steering switches in HOLD.
At the machine harness connector, check continuity from switch contact 24 to return contact 39.Expected Result:With either rear steering switch in the RIGHT position, there should be continuity. With both switches in HOLD, there should be no continuity. Results:
OK - Proceed to Test Step 5.
NOT OK - The switch or the machine harness is faulty. Proceed to Test Step 4.Test Step 4. CHECK CW CIRCUIT OF EACH SWITCHThis check determines whether the switch or the machine harness is faulty.
The key start switch remains in the ON position.
At each rear steering switch, disconnect the wire (L923-OR) from terminal 12 and wire (229-BK)
