Start By:a. separate track assemblies Adjust the height of Tooling (A) so when it is installed under the frame of the machine, there is enough clearance provided for the removal of the hydraulic track adjuster.1. Lift the side of the machine, and install Tooling (A) under the frame as shown. The front track carrier roller has been removed for better photo illustration of two mounting bolts (1) that hold the hydraulic track adjuster to the vertical bulkhead in the undercarriage frame assembly.2. Using a pry bar, move the front idler and recoil spring assembly (3) forward in the undercarriage frame assembly approximately 152 mm (6 in).3. The weight of the hydraulic track adjuster is 30 kg (65 lb). Using two persons, support hydraulic track adjuster (2), and remove two bolts (1) that hold the adjuster to the vertical bulkhead in the undercarriage frame assembly. Lower the hydraulic track adjuster out the bottom of the undercarriage frame assembly. The following steps are for the installation of the hydraulic track adjusters.4. Make sure the hydraulic track adjuster and the front and rear faces of the vertical bulkhead in the undercarriage frame assembly are clean and free of dirt and debris. 5. Install a suitable size guide bolt (4) in the upper mounting hole of hydraulic track adjuster (2) as shown. The guide bolt will help support the hydraulic track adjuster during the installation. 6. Using two persons, put hydraulic track adjuster (2) in position in the undercarriage frame assembly. Install guide bolt (4) in the hydraulic track adjuster through the upper mounting hole in the vertical bulkhead as shown. Make sure the fill and relief valves in the hydraulic track adjuster are facing toward the opening in the side of the undercarriage frame assembly. Install lower mounting bolt (1) that holds the adjuster in place. Remove the guide bolt, and install the upper mounting bolt.7. Using a pry bar, move the front idler and recoil spring against the hydraulic track adjuster.8. Lift the machine off of Tooling (A), and remove the stands from under the machine. Start By:a. remove hydraulic track adjusters1. Thoroughly clean the outside of the hydraulic track adjuster prior to disassembling it. 2. Attach a grease gun to fill valve (4). Pump grease through the fill valve and into cylinder (6) to remove piston (2). Remove the piston.3. Remove the O-ring seals and back-up rings from the piston.4. Remove the two bolts and stopper plate assembly (5) from cylinder (6). Remove relief valve (3) and fill valve (4) from the cylinder. Remove seal (1) from the cylinder.Assemble Hydraulic Track Adjusters
1. Make sure all of the parts of the hydraulic track adjuster are clean and free of dirt and debris prior to assembly.
